Holiday Partnership grants help 60 organizations provide much-needed services

HAF+WRCF has awarded 60 grants totaling nearly $76,000 to charitable organizations through its annual 2023 Holiday Funding Partnership Grant Program that assists underserved residents in four counties.

Funding partners of the grant program include Humboldt Health Foundation, the Mel & Grace McLean Foundation, the Smullin Foundation and Providence, Community Health Investment.

“These grants, and our community partners who fund the program, support the wonderful work that these organizations do every winter to provide food, clothing, and other basic necessities to underserved communities,” said HAF+WRCF’s Project & Program Manager Elena Keltz.

Organizations in California’s Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties, and Oregon’s Curry County, received grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 for holiday assistance programs offered between November 15 and January 1.

Some of the grant recipients include: Women’s and Children Crisis Shelter in Southern Humboldt County for clothing and meals; Trinity Community Food Outreach Inc. for Christmas dinners; the Brookings-Harbor Community Helpers’ Winter Youth Snack Pack Program; and St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church for clothing, meals and gifts for the unhoused.

In 2022, HAF+WRCF’s holiday funding program distributed 63 grants totaling $68,000; and 62 grants totaling $71,000 in 2021. To learn more about the annual Holiday Funding Partnership, contact HAF+WRCF’s Grants Team at grants@hafoundation.org.
