Outpouring of Support for quake-stricken residents

Weeks after the 6.4-magnitude quake and serious aftershocks struck Humboldt County — and after a series of winter storms battered the region — Humboldt Area Foundation + Wild Rivers Community Foundation has seen an outpouring of support for people most impacted as donors and funders in the region and beyond step up to help their neighbors in the hardest-hit communities.

Addressing community’s urgent needs, helping the vulnerable impacted by earthquake

We hope you, your family, and your friends are safe in the aftermath of Tuesday morning’s earthquake. We’re especially keeping in mind our neighbors in the Eel River Valley, where the quake was most severely felt. But as we’re learning, the damage is being reported throughout our region. Additionally, a forecast of inclement weather means many of those whose homes were damaged face increased danger as the region recovers.
