The Victor Thomas Jacoby Award committee is now accepting applications. The application is open to all artists and craftspeople of Humboldt County through midnight on Oct. 15, 2025. The fund supports up to four awards of $10,000 each.
Established by Victor shortly before his death in 1997, the trust is dedicated to supporting Humboldt County visual artists and craftspeople and to encouraging the exploration of new ideas, materials, techniques, mediums, and images, as well as excellence.
Each fall, regional artists apply for the Victor Thomas Jacoby Award by submitting ten examples of their work and vision for pushing their creativity to the next level. In 2024, the award supported the work of Humboldt County creatives Malia Matsumoto, Angie Tustison, Samantha Biasca, and Beau Saunders.
“At the Foundation, we have a deep appreciation for Victor’s steadfast commitment to nurturing the vibrant beauty and creative expression in our region,” says Sydney Morrone, Grants and Scholarships Program Officer at HAF+WRCF. “Honoring his legacy through this award is a celebratory tribute to his life’s work. By sharing his vision—one that inspires artists and craftspeople across Humboldt County—we hope to empower community members to pursue their artistic dreams.”
