Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, I have lived in California since 2000. I came to Humboldt County by way of Oakland in 2005, fully intending to return to the Bay Area after finishing my degree in Wildlife Conservation & Management at Humboldt State University. However, the beauty and power of the land, waters, and peoples of the North Coast wrapped me up in their magic, and this is where I feel truly at home. In my free time, I can usually be found hiking the hills and beaches with my dog Ozzy, crocheting or reading in the company of a strong cup of coffee.
While it felt like a meandering path at times, my experience working in wildlife and forestry for HSU, Tribal, federal, and private entities, living and working alongside the immigrant community of East Oakland, as well as founding and operating a small business have all shaped my personal values of equity, justice and lifelong learning to be a better human being. I feel incredibly grateful and honored to be working with such an insightful, compassionate and generous team of people here at HAF Community Strategies who share my commitment to listening, learning, and doing better to create equity and justice for all in our unique and incredibly diverse communities here on the North Coast.
