Native Cultures Fund

Ayukîi kôovura, hello everyone. I am from Panámniik, the Karuk placename for what is now known as Orleans, along the winding Klamath River. I am a proud auntie, sister, daughter, granddaughter, cousin, Karuk asiktávaan, educator, and river community member. For the last decade, I have worked in education, teaching every grade from pre-K to fourth. I am most passionate about helping young people be proud of who they are and where they come from. Teaching (and learning alongside!) students from my home communities of Orleans and Somes Bar, especially, was one of the greatest honors of my life.

As I grow into my new role as Program Manager for the Native Cultures Fund at Humboldt Area Foundation, I am excited to continue supporting local students and connecting with folks across Indian Country who are doing work to uplift cultural revitalization efforts.

I am honored to be joining this team of powerhouse women at NCF.
