Guwatsi! I am a proud citizen of the Laguna Pueblo and was born and raised in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. I earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico and majored in Native American Studies. During this time, I interned with the Laguna Pueblo Natural Resources Department and engaged in environmental monitoring and reporting. Having worked on indigenous environmental justice campaigns and taking my first law class, I was inspired to go to law school. In 2020 I graduated from the University of California Los Angeles School of Law where I specialized in environmental law, federal Indian law, and tribal law and worked with Indian law firms and environmental nonprofit organizations. After graduating, I moved to Humboldt County to work first for the Yurok Tribe and then for the Environmental Protection Information Center, focusing on the intersections between conservation, climate mitigation, and tribal sovereignty. I hope to bring my passion of implementing a holistic vision of climate advocacy to HAF+WRCF. When I’m not working, I love to hike, swim, dance, and watch movies.
