I am a proud Southern Humboldt girl originally from one of Humboldt County’s smallest municipalities – Honeydew, CA, pop. 277! I became the first person in my family attend college thanks to the partial aid of a scholarship housed at the Humboldt Area Foundation. After earning a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco, I organized my life around international travel and various careers including freelance writing, youth mentorship, counseling and hospitality.

I joined the Humboldt Area Foundation in 2018 after working for several years as a journalist with a focus on local politics, homelessness and healthcare. My “Swiss Army Knife” of experience and interests has served me well as a project manager for HAF +WRCF, where I get to help various teams with end-to-end implementation of goals. It is extremely rewarding to work for an organization dedicated to the communities I care about so deeply.
