Dina partners with her family in the Lone Star Ranch, a cattle ranching operation. Dina, her husband Mark and son Jake also own and operate a heavy equipment business, Iaqua Construction and Logging. Iaqua is involved in non-industrial timber harvest, fire-fighting and restoration. Mark and Dina have worked hard at building sustainable business enterprises that allows for the next generation to make a living in the ranching/resource community. Dina has been actively involved in restoration efforts in the Van Duzen watershed. She is a founding member of YES ( Yager/Van Duzen Environmental Stewards), a ranching landowner-led watershed group. From 2001-2004, she served on the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board. In 2004, Dina was appointed to the UC President’s Advisory Commission on Agriculture and Natural Resources, where she continues to serve. Dina has worked locally, regionally and nationally sharing the values of collaboration and conservation for working landscapes that support resilient vibrant ecosystems and healthy communities. Dina is a UC Davis alumni, a graduate of the California Agricultural Leadership Program and has studied environmental dispute resolution and mediation at Humboldt State University and through UC Davis Extension. The Moore’s have been fortunate enough to have been recognized for their work receiving several prestigious awards, including the Leopold Conservation Award presented by the Sand County Foundation. Mark and Dina are proud that the 7th generation is being raised on the ranch and that all three of their adult children have chosen to stay in Humboldt County and are continuing the legacy of both working in agriculture as well as serving their community.
