Helping Hand Fund

Applications for the Helping Hand Fund will no longer be accepted after September 6, 2024.

The Humboldt Area Foundation + Wild Rivers Community Foundation is committed to investing resources in our regional community in a transparent and impactful way. The Helping Hand Fund will transition to making annual grants directly to organizations to better support those organizations in meeting the needs of their clients and our community members. Beginning in early 2025, this updated process will improve the accessibility of these resources, reducing the administrative burden of those applying for funding.

We look forward to announcing more grant opportunities in the coming months, please check back on our Grants Portal for updates.

The Helping Hand Fund is a program of the Humboldt Area Foundation & Wild Rivers Community Foundation. It provides small grants to women, trans-men, and/or children* that are struggling for whom a small grant will provide some relief during a time of crisis. Clients must be Humboldt County residents.

*Applications may be submitted on behalf of male guardians for resources for the youth in their care.

Average Grant Size: Grants range from $30 – $150, with the maximum granted $150. Decisions to grant funds are contingent upon funding criteria and the availability of funds at the time of review.
