Humboldt Area Foundation + Wild Rivers Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2024 Holiday Funding Partnership grant program. The grant program’s funding partners include the Mel & Grace McLean Foundation, the Patricia D. & William B. Smullin Foundation, and Providence Community Health Investment.
The Holiday Funding Partnership offers small grants of $500 to $2,000 to organizations that assist underserved residents of Humboldt, Del Norte, Trinity, and Curry counties. Grant funds support holiday assistance programs offered between November 15 and January 1. Applications are due by Oct. 1, 2024.
“Our local nonprofits do an amazing job of providing for our community all year round, and we want to recognize them for going above and beyond during the holiday season,” says Meredith Knowles, Director of Grantmaking. “The Holiday Funding Partnership is honored to support these organizations in their dedication to providing a happy holiday for those facing challenges at this time of year.”
The grant program’s funding partners include the Mel & Grace McLean Foundation, the Patricia D. & William B. Smullin Foundation, and Providence Community Health Investment.
In 2023, HAF+WRCF awarded 60 grants totaling nearly $76,000 to charitable organizations. Recipients include organizations like the Dream Quest – Willow Creek Youth Partnership, which used the funds to support its 2023 Holiday Giving effort. In Eureka, the Westside Community Improvement Association received funding for its Gratitude Gathering and harvest bag distribution program. The food was purchased from the North Coast Grower’s Association.
