I am originally from one of Humboldt County’s smallest municipalities – Honeydew, CA, pop. 277! I grew up off the grid in Southern Humboldt and became the first person in my family attend college with the partial aid of a scholarship housed at the Humboldt Area Foundation. After earning a B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco, I went on to a varied career that included several stints of world travel, youth mentorship, AOD counseling and cattle ranching.
I joined the Humboldt Area Foundation in 2018 after working for several years as a journalist with a focus on local politics, homelessness and healthcare. My patchwork of jobs and interests has served me well as a project manager for HAF +WRCF, where I get to help various teams with end-to-end implementation of goals. It is extremely rewarding to work for an organization dedicated to uplifting the communities I care about so deeply.
