Fortuna Elementary School District has established a fund at Humboldt Area Foundation for people and businesses to contribute to the district’s art and music programs.
The Fortuna Elementary School District Arts & Music Fund is to be used for programs, instruction, activities, or field trips that encourage, teach or explore all areas of the arts: music, dance, drawing, painting, writing and drama. All programs, instruction, or field trips supported by the fund are for the enrichment of students enrolled in the District’s schools which include Ambrosini Elementary, South Fortuna Elementary, Fortuna Middle School and Toddy Thomas Middle School.
The fund at the Foundation was launched with a generous $10,000 gift from two local anonymous donors.
“We are grateful and honored by the support from these two donors in helping us sustain quality arts and music education in our schools,” said District Superintendent Jeff Northern.
“We trust Humboldt Area Foundation to help us manage and invest our fund to benefit the students and families within the Fortuna Elementary School District, now and in the future,” Northern added.
Tax-deductible contributions to the fund can be made online at Fortuna High School Scholarship Fund for the MECHA Club or by calling (707) 442-2993.
