Grants are available for organizations serving communities within the HAF+WRCF service region:
- Impacted by racialized marginalization & philanthropic underinvestment
- Led by and/or are serving Black, Indigenous and People of Color
- Working to improve the wellness, safety, and/or belonging of community members impacted by systemic racism/racialized marginalization
The Just Futures grant round is currently accepting grant applications for general operations funding.
Just Futures is designed to elevate Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) organizational leadership, support BIPOC communities, and support the organizations serving them in our region. Grants will be made to support organizations who have been impacted by historical underinvestment from philanthropy as a result of racialized marginalization. Grants will be made to charitable or public benefit organizations led by Black, Indigenous, or People of Color and/or serving BIPOC communities that are doing work to improve the wellness, safety, and/or belonging of community members impacted by systemic racism/racialized marginalization.
Grants will be made for general operating support, and each grant will be a minimum of $25,000. Requests for grants higher than this amount will be considered as funding allows and demonstration of all criteria being met.
Grants will not be made for specific programs, activities, capital campaigns, etc.
Funding Priorities and Eligibility:
- Organizations must serve BIPOC communities as a primary part of their work or programming, and those with racially diverse leadership that is reflective of the communities they serve will be prioritized.
- Applicants should be prepared to speak to how the needs and voices of people experiencing racialized marginalization are incorporated into their work and how the work of the organization improves the wellness, safety, and/or belonging of community members impacted by systemic racism/racialized marginalization.
- Applicants may be nonprofit organizations with 501c(3) status, organizations with a qualified fiscal sponsor, or public benefit groups.
- Applicants must serve communities within the HAF+WRCF service area.
Applications must be submitted by May 5.
