The Victor Thomas Jacoby Award committee is now accepting applications from visual artists and craftspeople based in Humboldt County through Oct. 15, 2024. The fund supports up to four awards of $10,000 each.

Each year the award varies in focus. In 2023, the award supported the work of Humboldt County weavers, spinners, and dyers, and went to recipients Devva Kasnitz, Jessica Trudeau, Michelle Sonnenfeldt, and Sasha Lyth.

“Victor’s legacy has greatly impacted the landscape for artists in Humboldt County, reflecting his unwavering dedication to our vibrant artistic community. At the Foundation, we hold Victor’s vision close to our hearts, cherishing the lasting impact he has made and continuing to honor his commitment to nurturing creativity in our region.”

Established by Victor before his death in 1997, the trust is dedicated to supporting Humboldt County visual artists and craftspeople and to encouraging the exploration of new ideas, materials, techniques, mediums, and images, as well as excellence.
