Program from WRCF Director Gina Zottola.
The STEM program for students at Crescent City’s Redwood Elementary School recently received $500 gift from the R. Baird and Jane Rumiano Family Fund, facilitated by the Wild Rivers Community Foundation. The funds will be used for a program focused on science, technology, engineering and math.
The Rowdy Creek Fish Hatchery in Smith River also received $500 from the R. Baird and Jane Rumiano Family Fund. The hatchery is a nonprofit organization that endeavors to increase and perpetuate the native runs of steelhead and Chinook salmon in the Smith River.
The Rumiano Family Fund, one of more than 60 advisor funds facilitated by WRCF, was established in 2009 to support the community in areas such as athletics, scholarships, training for volunteers and volunteerism, and other programs supporting self-sufficiency in the people, natural resources and beauty of our area.
