Lottie Memorial Fund

Christopher John Lottie, was born August 6, 1980, in Raleigh, NC. By the time he was 18 months old he had developed an extensive vocabulary and sense of humor. Chris loved to smile with a twinkle in his eyes, and make people laugh. Between the ages of 6 weeks old and 18 years, Chris and the family moved 5 times: Raleigh, NC; Colts Neck, NJ; Fairview, TX; Bellevue, WA; Eden Prairie, MN; and Plano, TX in 1994. He went to the University of Texas at Austin for two years before going to and graduating from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute of Austin, TX. He was a chef in various Austin area restaurants, and planted, cultivated, and expanded fresh produce gardens. For three years Chris was part owner, managed and worked at two Dickey's BBQ Pit restaurants in Austin. Upon their closing, he moved to Redway, CA in 2015. While in Redway, he met Mackenzie E. Dorn. On June 25, 2022, they were married. He passed away July 28, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Mackenzie Dorn Lottie, parents Rick and Vickie Lottie, and sister Christy Lottie. Chris would do anything for family or friends, and during the 2020-21 wildfires in Northern CA, he helped evacuate friends and strangers alike. Donations made to this fund will go toward supporting local fire organizations throughout all of Humboldt County.
